I am a former editor of Virus Bulletin (1997-9). Prior to that my association with the antivirus industry was as moderator of the Virus-L mailing list, taking over that role from Ken van Wyk while working as a consultant in the computer centre at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Since leaving Virus Bulletin and returning to New Zealand, I have worked as an independent consultant and researcher, focusing on malicious software and antivirus issues, and mainly working under contract to Computer Associates. I am a regular speaker at antivirus industry conferences, and am well known for my (sometimes blisteringly) frank and usually to-the-point contributions to antivirus-, and security-, oriented mailing lists.
You probably don’t want to get me started on malware naming issues.
And don’t talk to me about beer unless you are worthy…
(No, that’s not an especially good likeness of me – if you really must to see a pic, look at the Hamburg 2003 group photo on Igor’s page.)
